All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Nowhere is that more true than San Francisco. People are drawn here because we work hard producing art, culture and advanced products and because we know how to enjoy ourselves after work.

The following are just a few examples of things to do while you’re in San Francisco.

The Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park is an amazing place to visit. It’s an aquarium, planetarium and museum all in one and is a great place to visit if you’re interest in science, nature or history. Be aware though, you will need a good few hours to do it justice!

Union Square is a shopping highlight of the city. There are literally hundreds of stores, from big chains to individual designers and boutiques. There are also street entertainers, vendors and all manner of other things going on all the time. It’s an great place to spend a few hours and a few dollars!

WESTFIELD SHOPPING CENTRE

The Westfield Shopping Centre is probably the best place to shop in San Francisco. The area is huge and contains a massive shopping mall and hundreds more smaller stores surrounding it. There are also ample opportunities to eat, drink and be merry too.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

The Golden Gate Bridge features a lot on every visitors to-do list and with good reason. Take a guided tour in the evening or walk or cycle across it. You can go across and back, or go across and return by bus, depending on your level of fitness.San Francisco (2)

CABLE CAR MUSEUM

The Cable Car Museum offers free entry if you time it right. The museum celebrates our famous cable cars and is a great way to spend a couple of hours learning not just about the cable cars, but about the history of San Francisco itself.

ANCHOR BREWING COMPANY TOURS

Anchor Brewing Company Tours are another visitor highlight. These free tours offer a glimpse behind the scenes of a major brewer. See how beer is made, how it’s flavored, matured, bottled and packed. Then get a taster at the end. It’s a great way to spend a warm day.

SAN FRANCISCO MARITIME NATIONAL PARK

San Francisco Maritime National Park includes a museum, ships, visitors center and much more. It’s conveniently located on Fisherman’s Wharf, making it an ideal way to spend a few hours while you’re exploring the city.
