Richmond is the capital city of Virginia and has a population of around 200,000. Set by the James River, it is 44 miles west of Williamsburg, 66 miles east of Charlottesville and 90 miles south of Washington, D.C.

Getting around Richmond, VA

Richmond International Airport (RIC) is the main city airport and is east of the city. It handles most domestic air carriers. The smaller Chesterfield County Airport (FCI) to the south of the city and Hanover County Airport (OFP) to the north handle general aviation.
The city has excellent road links too. It is located at the intersections of I-95 and I-64, and encircled by I-295, Virginia State Route 150 and Virginia State Route 288. Highways 250, 301, 360 and 60 ensures local traffic is handled along with commuters from outlying districts.
Arrival by rail via Amtrak will see you at Staples Mill station or Richmond Main Street Station. Greyhound run buses from their regional hub at Boulevard while Eastern Travel, Megabus and BoltBus all run services into and out of the city.
