Tampa Florida

Tampa is a city in Florida, in Hillsborough County on the west coast. It’s a lovely place to live, built around Tampa Bay. It has all the southern charm you expect with all the benefits of a modern city. It’s an excellent place to live and work.

Located southwest of Orlando and north of Fort Myers, the city is protected by a spit of land sheltering it from the Gulf. The port and position of the city means shipping, logistics and the navy have helped the city survive and thrive. While the economy is much more varied now, these industries still have quite a presence here.

Corporate housing in Tampa is a mixture of furnished apartments and condominiums. There are townhomes and single family homes in the suburbs too.

GETTING AROUND TAMPA

You’ll likely fly into Tampa International Airport (TPA) if you’re coming here direct. The airport is near Tampa Bay and a short trip from the city. There is also Saint Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, both of which serve smaller airlines.

We have an Amtrak station serving national routes from Miami to New York that stop here. We also have TECO Line streetcars and a trolley system that serves the business districts. It runs from Whiting and Franklin Streets downtown to Centennial Park in Ybor City.

Buses are run by Greyhound and HART has a range of routes to serve commuters. Car is our main form of transport and it’s relatively easy to get around here with a hire car or your own.

Arriving by road will likely see you on either I-75 from the north or I-4 from the east. I-275 runs into and around the city. Local routes handle local traffic and while rush hour does get busy, it is still able to cope.
