Our culture is a big part of who were are in Kansas City and we are rightly proud of the mix. To celebrate our creativity and productivity, there are over a hundred galleries where you can enjoy everything from paintings to sculpture and get a taste of what KC is all about.
We also have a range of ethnic displays and events held by representatives of the different cultures that make up Kansas City. Each offers a taster of the contributions made by them and enriches us all.
No vibrant city would be complete without a lively music scene. Kansas City is no different. We have several districts that include nightclubs, bars, live music venues and concert halls. The Power and Light District, Westport and Plaza districts have plenty of music to choose from, whatever your taste.
If designer stores and boutiques are more your scene, we have plenty here for you. We have a wide range of malls and shopping districts for the discerning buyer, with more appearing by the day.
Highlights are Westport, which has a huge range of one-off stores, boutiques, craft shops and art galleries to peruse. The new Crown Center is a mall containing over 60 stores, restaurants and bars within which you can scratch that consumer itch.
Sport is at the center of what Kansas City is all about. The city is home to the Kansas City Chiefs, our beloved football team, the Kansas City Royals, our baseball team and most of the current NASCAR driver lineup.
If amateur sports are your thing, there are numerous sports arenas, clubs and playing areas for you to enjoy. Being active is part of our way of life and we want to encourage that as much as possible. Whatever your sport, there will be a team and a club for it here.
