Festivals & Events in Colorado Springs

Given the fantastic surroundings, lovely weather and desire to live life, there is always something going on in Colorado Springs. If you’re about to move into corporate housing in Colorado Springs, these events are a great way to integrate into local life and enjoy yourself at the same time!

Bikes & Brews – September

Bikes & Brews has to be one of the coolest events in the country. Cycle for 50k while stopping regularly to try artisan beers. Colorado has more breweries than anywhere else, so it’s a perfect excuse to indulge. Run by Fremont Adventure Recreation and Red Canyon Cycles.

Elk Fest – October

Elk Fest is held annually to celebrate the Elk rut (yes really) in Estes Park. It’s a celebration of everything outdoors and Colorado as well as elk and is well worth a visit if only to see what “elk bugling” is all about!

Annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo – July

The Annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is held every year at the Norris-Penrose Event Center and is one of the country’s best rodeos. It’s fast, furious and an exhibition of amazing animal handling, both horse and bull.

The Colorado Balloon Classic is a real spectacle that is help each Labor Day. Hundreds of hot air balloons take off and fly in the air while on the ground there are activities, exhibits and traders to view.

Colorado Springs Science Festival – October

Given the high tech nature of industry around Colorado Springs, it’s no wonder there’s a science festival or two around. Held each year, the Colorado Springs Science Festival is one of the best. With shows, exhibits and displays, it’s definitely one to see.

Festival of Lights Celebration – December

The Festival of Lights held every December in downtown Colorado Springs. It’s a holiday event with a carnival theme as floats parade through town, bands play and Santa Claus spends valuable time in his hectic schedule to greet the kids.

Greek Festival – August

Greek Festival is the ideal opportunity to enjoy a piece of Greece for a weekend. There’s lots of Greek food, music and dancing as well as a celebration of everything Hellenic. It makes a nice change from the usual and gives a real insight into another way of life.

Hummingbird Festival – May

The charmingly named Hummingbird Festival is help in North Cheyenne and is a general festival celebrating life, love, children and art. There are magicians, arts, crafts, stores, displays, exhibitions and much more.
