Our city is made up of a number of neighborhoods, each offering a little something different to make up this vibrant, exciting whole. From the southern-styled Myers Park to the ultra-modern Center City, the areas are as diverse as the people who live there.
Dilworth is one of the older neighborhoods with traditional streets, bungalow style homes and a real sense of character. The area includes a wide range of restaurants, bars, cafes and boutiques, offering plenty to see and do.
Myers Park is one of Charlotte’s most prestigious areas. With tree-lined streets, large estate homes and an aura of real Southern charm, this is a very sought-after place to live. The Mint Museum of Art can be found here as well as a number of other local highlights.
South End is a shoppers haven. With a wide selection of one-off shops, boutiques, antique stores, restaurants and malls, there is plenty to spend time and money on while you’re here. There are also a range of galleries, performance spaces and festivals held here, making it a cultural highlight of Charlotte.
NoDa is the true heart of art and culture in Charlotte. Located just north of Center City, NoDa has risen from the ashes of its industrial past to play host to artists, performers, restaurants, cafes and galleries.
Center City is a key business and entertainment district in Charlotte and is made up of all the neighborhoods we have discussed so far. It’s a mix of traditional, historical and modern and makes up a large part of Charlotte’s culture and economy.
South Park is where locals come to spend money. It is the main destination for mall and boutique shopping and has been voted “One of the Four Best Places in the South for Luxury Shopping.” No visit to Charlotte would be complete without a browse around South Park.
Ballantyne started out as a planned community built around the Ballantyne Golf Resort and Spa. It has since outgrown that design and has matured into a lively, interesting community offering a wide range of shopping, eating and drinking options.
Charlotte is much more than just the sum of its parts. The city is alive with color, culture and captivating life. That’s why it’s one of the best destination cities in the south, and why we love it.
