Getting around Washington D.C.

As you would expect, our capital city is well served by transport links of all kinds. You can fly into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) south of Arlington for domestic flights only. International flights and some domestic carriers use Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) which is 25 miles west of the city. Dulles has both bus and light rail links to the city.

Union Station in Capitol Hill handle rail with Amtrak running multiple services into the city. Metrorail, Maryland Rail Commuter (MARC) and Virginia Railway Express run local services around the city.

Buses also run to Union Station with Greyhound, BestBus, BoltBus, Eastern Shuttle, Megabus and others all running services here. The D.C. Circulator is the local commuter bus with stops all over the city.

Travel by car is straightforward but avoid rush hour whenever possible. Major routes include I-95, the I-495 Capital Beltway, I-395, Inner Loop, Outer Loop, I-66, US-50, Baltimore-Washington Pkwy, I-270 and local routes all helping you along.

  • What types of leases do you offer in D.C.?

    Blu Corporate Housing offers a range of lease options to meet everyone’s need. The shortest lease we offer is 30 days and goes up from there. You should know, the longer your lease the cheaper your rates will be. So if you can, take the longest lease you are able to take. Any leases over three months is where you will begin to notice significant savings.

  • Do you offer pet friendly houssing in D.C.?

    Yes! Blu has a large amount of furnished rentals that accept dogs and cats. However, please be aware that we do have a “dangerous breeds” list with the usual suspects. We understand these lists that ban entire breeds is not fair and an outdated way of looking at things. With that being said, we are also at the mercy of the various apartment complexes we work with and must abide by their rules. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    Banned Breeds Include:

    • American Pit Bull Terrier
    • American Bully
    • American Staffordshire Terrier
    • Staffordshire Bull Terrier or any other dogs that are cross breeds of or are related to such breeds.
